Short summary of the book: A prince cursed with a swan wing escapes his own kingdom and runs away after his father wants his wing cut.
I'm not doing any sort of review that explains the whole premise and plot etc, I'm just voicing my opinions. For this, I might as well add that there might be spoilers.
This book was an awful drag. I could not believe a journey would cover so much of a book.
However I have enjoyed some parts of it, such as:
The Horse. I think the author really thought of the movie Shrek when writing about the horse. (The horse's name was Horse, do not be mistaken) Horse completely reminded me of Donkey, just a bit more sophisticated, but he humored me well.
The best friends as well. I think the betrayal just made a good turn in the book. I liked it, it made me gasp and it paid for the drag of a story. His friend that he fell in love with, Skye, was already in a secret relationship with his close friend Stephen. Now isn't that some juice in some random fantasy world.
Some scenes I thoroughly enjoyed, although most I had to force myself to read finish. Fantasy books are far too complicated for me but I didn't hate it at all. I actually embraced random words for kingdoms and the shittiest names that were made (no offence to those with these actual names) "Wearg" "Narg" and some other crap.
Lastly, it was a lil' bit predictable that the swans weren't going to accept him. Any reader could expect that after the thirtieth time that the MC said "I can't wait to see the swans, they'll accept me for who I am".
A book I'm glad I finished but will never pick up again, unless I want to read some of Horse's dialogue for a good laugh.
