Birdwing - Rafe Martin

Short summary of the book: A prince cursed with a swan wing escapes his own kingdom and runs away after his father wants his wing cut.   I'm not doing any sort of review that explains the whole premise and plot etc, I'm just voicing my opinions. For this, I might as well add that  there might be spoilers. This book was an awful drag. I could not believe a journey would cover so much of a book.  However I have enjoyed some parts of it, such as: The Horse . I think the author really thought of the movie Shrek when writing about the horse. (The horse's name was Horse , do not be mistaken) Horse completely reminded me of Donkey , just a bit more sophisticated, but he humored me well.  The best friends as well. I think the betrayal just made a good turn in the book. I liked it, it made me gasp and it paid for the drag of a story. His friend that he fell in love with, Skye, was already in a secret relationship with his close friend Stephen. Now isn't th...

Strange Weather in Tokyo - Hiromi Kawakami

Short summary of the book: A 40 year old woman acquaints herself with a 70 year old man, alcohol forms their relationship and they - awkwardly and formally - fall in love with each other. I'm not doing any sort of review that explains the whole premise and plot etc, I'm just voicing my opinions. For this, I might as well add that  there might be spoilers. This - in my opinion - is a book for everyone, but majorly directed at middle-aged women who are hopeless romantics or still seeking love.  I'd like to elaborate more on the summary I have given. Awkward; because the air around them usually made me feel uncomfortable. They only built their relationship over alcohol. Tons and tons of alcohol. It didn't seem sincere enough regardless of the efforts put in to attempt sincerity. They also communicated formally with each other, had abrupt and aimless qualms in which the woman, Tsukiko , became irate and so had I. The age gap was nothing, seemed like nothing fo...

The 10 Year Plan

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was extremely amusing seeing someone get rejected a million times. It brought some confidence to me in some way. Short summary of the film: Two guys, cop and lawyer, make a truce to date each other if they cant find partners for themselves in 10 years time. I'm not doing any sort of review that explains the whole premise and plot etc, I'm just voicing my opinions on the movie. For this, I might as well add that  there might be spoilers. I think we all knew from the get-go that they were going to be together. I mean, a sexy cop and a stern lawyer? It’s a juicy story. It was light-hearted and well-paced but the only downside to it was that it was utterly and completely predictable. Look at this picture and tell me if you think anything else than all three of these guys having a sexual relation to one another. And you're not wrong.  Was that what they wanted us to think? Throughout the entire movie I sat chanting “J...

The Breadwinner

The Breadwinner I mean, first look at this pic and tell me whether this looks promising or not: Whether or not you agree with that, I for one was interested.  Okay, that was a white lie. I saw this picture first: And thought "A powerful little girl associated with being the financial supporter of a family, I'm sold." but it doesn't scrape the fact that the first picture was just as interesting - the background itself set everything; tone, scene, time. In any case, you get why I was drawn into this movie. I'm not doing any sort of review that explains the whole premise and plot etc, I'm just voicing my opinions on the movie. For this, I might as well add that there might be spoilers. The Breadwinner is frickn amazing. I cannot believe a cartoon so gorgeous produced by Angelina Jolie herself (correct me if i'm wrong, she has co-produced it with someone that I forgot and am too lazy to actually look up) could be so heart-wrenching and le...

Intro

Hey. I'm Zaaids & I frckn LOVE movies.   I watch almost about anything that's interesting to keep me at the edge of my bed. Because of that, I developed many opinions of movies; some controversial, some leaving loose ends, some that opens my mind to the bigger picture etc etc you get the gist I presume.  So, what popped up in my mind was this: I have all these thoughts and I could babble for ages and run my mouth dry just speaking about them. Why not start a blog? Share my thoughts in a space and voice it out.
